This period we decided to continue working on the micro-project "interview" because our final goal is, as reporters from "El Telescopio" magazine, to have the ability to conduct interviews in English; and we have acomplished a lot!
This is how our process has been so far:
During the first period we learned the basic personal information, we conducted interviews among each other, we interviewed our parents, even famous people (using our imagination and researching) and we used puppets interviewing each other and it was fun :) We also learned vocabulary like school supplies. We worked mostly the communicating ability during this time.
During the second period we worked a little bit more on grammar so we learned how to conjugate the verb "to be" in present simple and we learned how to use some adjectives in order to add a better strucutre and a better understading to our interviews. We began learning the body parts.
During the third period we added more questions in simple present to our interview micro-project. We also learned the structure of the simple present tense to be able to create our own questions. We involved our parents by interviewing them and we also learned how to pass the interview in the 3rd singular person but this part we must work on it more deeply next period. We also learned more body parts and played some fun games practicing them.
Here we have some videos showing the interviews the students conducted among each other. They may have some mistakes but we can see how well we are progressing. Please watch them, enjoy them and don't forget to comment :)

MICRO-PROJECT: NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE - CELEBRATION PHASE: 11th GRADE - 3rd PERIOD
We began our micro-project by looking at some pictures taken by great photographers from the National Geographic Magazine. After that we read an article about this magazine which was written mostly in passive voice. By combining geography and passive voice we began a journey discovering language and our abilities to take awesome pictures and in some cases created great stories. We are proud to present these presentations and we hope that you enjoy them.
We are not representing National Geographic, this is simply a school project based on the magazine. Some of the following stories are fiction and any similarity to reality is pure coincidence.
The pictures shown in these presentations were taken by the students of the 11th grade of Colombo Francés School in August 2010.
We look forward in reading your comments and as much as possible comment in English.
Thanks,
Wendy Potter

CELEBRATION STAGE 3RD PERIOD 7th GRADE PRE-HISTORIC ANIMALS
This third period we worked the simple past through learning about pre-historic animals, their body parts, their description and interesting facts about them. We learned new adjectives and we described the pre-historic animals from the movie Ice Age III which we watched :) We worked on the Simple Past structure in interrogative, affirmative and negative forms. During the classes we did some worksheets were we also worked on the past of the verb "to be", descriptions of some pre-historic animals like the mammoth and the sibertooth tiger. We also described some of our classmates and best friends in order to practice description. As a celebration of this microproject we did some presentations of our favorite pre-historic animals.
Here you will be able to see these presentations.
